About the Role:

We are looking for an exceptional and highly experienced Senior Paraplanner with a comprehensive background in Australian financial planning to support financial advisers and deliver high-quality advice outcomes.

The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with deep exposure across all areas of financial planning—including complex advice strategies involving Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs), trusts, and company structures.

This role requires someone who can work autonomously, liaise directly with financial advisers, and add immediate value by identifying inconsistencies, gaps, or potential issues in advisers’ requests and providing constructive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Statement of Advice (SOA) & Document Preparation: Prepare clear, accurate, and fully compliant advice documents (SOAs, ROAs, and strategy presentations) using Xplan for a wide variety of financial planning strategies.
  • Complex Strategy Structuring: Formulate and model complex financial planning strategies, including SMSFs, trusts, company structures, personal risk insurance, superannuation, and geared investment portfolios.
  • Adviser Collaboration & Direct Liaison: Work directly and autonomously with Australian financial advisers to discuss advice strategies, clarify briefs, and align on optimal client outcomes.
  • Critical Analysis & Quality Assurance: Review adviser requests critically to identify missing information, strategy gaps, or potential compliance issues, offering proactive and constructive solutions.
  • Xplan Utilization & Management: Utilize advanced Xplan functionality (modeling, site wizards, wealth/risk modules, and custom templates) to ensure high efficiency and document quality.
  • Technical Research & Compliance: Conduct technical research on products, regulations, and tax strategies to ensure advice recommendations meet Australian compliance standards.
  • Value Creation: Contribute beyond the technical preparation of advice documents by actively identifying workflow improvements and supporting broader advice quality goals.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years’ paraplanning experience at a senior level in Australian financial planning.
  • Advanced proficiency in Xplan is mandatory, as all advice documents are prepared through the platform.
  • Strong exposure across all areas of financial planning, with demonstrated experience handling complex advice strategies involving SMSFs, family/unit trusts, and company structures.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and liaise directly with financial advisers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to identify inconsistencies, gaps, or potential issues in advisers’ requests and provide constructive solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and contribute beyond the technical preparation of advice documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for exceptional candidates who can add value from day one and help deliver high-quality advice outcomes for our advisers and clients. The successful candidate must be a confident, autonomous practitioner with advanced Xplan skills and deep knowledge of complex Australian financial planning strategies. Advanced proficiency in Xplan and senior-level paraplanning experience are non-negotiable requirements for this position.
